Horary Astrology

Natal astrology is most useful for understanding ourselves and the life we have been born into. In my practice, I primarily use it as a psychoanalytic tool to engage in challenging depth work from a slight remove.

If you ask me about your love life during a birth chart reading, I can tell you a lot of information: what kind of lover you are most compatible with, what kind of partner you yourself are in a relationship, what area of life you most prefer to engage in love and relationships in, etc.

But if you ask me “Will I marry my boyfriend?” in a birth chart reading, natal astrology has no answer for that.

“Will I get the job?”

“When will they call me back?”

“Who will win the lawsuit?”

“Do we have a future together?”

These are the kinds of questions that fall squarely in the category of what we call Horary Astrology. This medieval form of divination answers these kinds of questions by casting a chart for the moment the astrologer understands your question and then divining the answer using that chart as an oracle.

Now with all forms of divination, I caution you to only ask the questions you are prepared to receive answers for.

I also reserve the right to decline to answer any question. There are certain topics I have no interest in engaging with, death and illness are the two that come to mind immediately. Please respect my boundaries should I decline to answer your question.

The future is always changing, therefore future telling is NEVER 100% accurate.

We all would do well to remember this when engaging in divinatory practices. And the truth is that this is a beautiful thing - we all have free will and the power to decide our own fates.
